Mee wins Montana Open by one stroke

MISSOULA — Jim Mee of Libby was a wire-to-wire winner of the Montana Open, carding a final round 4-under par 68 on Sunday at Larchmont Golf Course.

Mee finished the 54-hole event 14-under par.

He shared the lead after the first 18 with Russell Grove of Hayden, Idaho, at 7-under 65.

He followed with a 69 and a share of the 36-hole lead with amateur Brian Beach of Missoula.

Beach shot 69 on the final day to finish one shot behind Mee.

Ryan Malby of Kalispell tied for seventh. Malby shot 68-74-69—211.

Polson’s Cameron Milton, 71-71-74—216, tied for 12th.
