Giles David Breaux, 58, of Columbia Falls, “followed the path to the other side” on Sept. 2, 2013. His mother, Dorothy May Breaux, and friends shared his final moments with him.

Giles was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, on Jan. 12, 1955. His father was in the Army, and the family returned to the United States later that year. Giles lived his childhood in the Salinas, Calif., area and moved to Montana in 1979 where he went to work for Royal Logging Co.

Giles was an avid gunsmith, and in his later years spent all of his spare time restoring guns and building guns for his friends and grandchildren.

Giles' wife, Janet Breaux, preceded him in death in 2008, “and he has gone to be with her. May their souls rest together forever.”

He is survived by two children from his first marriage, Cleveland D. Breaux of Kentucky and Levicy M. Fox of Arkansas; his mother of Prunedale, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. Giles also leaves behind two stepchildren, Glen and Shannon; a brother, Paul Breaux; sister, Valerie Breaux Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Giles’ request that there not be any memorial or funeral services. Cremation has taken place, and “Giles is walking the mountains of Northwest Montana with his love, Janet Breaux.”
