Man arrested for choking woman

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man after he was reported choking a woman in a cabin on Going-to-the-Sun Road. The woman reportedly sounded very hoarse when on the phone with dispatchers.

A concerned Internet surfer reported a U.S. 93 South resident posted a video on Facebook of his 5-year-old son slapping his 8-year-old sister as hard as he could and vice versa, and that it was child abuse.

A Lone Pine Road man got hit with a double-whammy when not only were several items stolen from his vehicle, but also his gas cap and almost all the gas.

A resourceful burglar managed to get inside an East Cottonwood Drive home by taking an air conditioner out of a window.

A Bigfork woman on Grand Drive reported the grandma of her “baby daddy” keeps calling and harassing her.

A fed-up Fourth Avenue East man reported his son, who was currently “sleeping it off” had been threatening his life. He agreed to tell his son he was no longer welcome there after he woke up and would apply for a restraining order.

Someone with an ax to grind used chalk paint to write obscenities on the window of a truck on North Main Street.

A concerned Third Avenue West woman reported someone had poisoned her chickens, that her chickens lay eggs, that there was something wrong with the eggs, and that some of them were missing. She was afraid someone may get sick due to the problem.

A Cooper Lane woman reported her drunk neighbor was yelling at her over turning her son in for a crime.

A report of a pair of youths swearing at each other across Sixth Avenue East North threatening to fight turned out to be some very loud boys discussing who was going to ride which bicycle home.


A Wisconsin Avenue woman trying to look out for the best interests of a nearby child of 7 contacted the Whitefish Police Department after the child was again left home alone. After making the report, the mother returned, reportedly screaming at the child and slapping him before threatening the neighbor. The woman later approached the woman at her home, trying to get her to fight and calling her vulgar names.

A drunk woman tried to attack a bartender and another patron at a Central Avenue bar, and was eventually arrested, and a hold placed on her from the U.S. Border Patrol.

A misdirected motorist struck a sprinkler head at a U.S. 93 South property, leaving it open and spraying water all over.
