Following a 2-0 start, Glacier is ranked as the No. 3 football team in Class AA in the first Associated Press prep poll of the season.

Glacier is one of four undefeated teams to start the season, and follows Bozeman and Helena Capital in the rankings. Helena High is ranked fourth and defending champion Butte is fifth as the top 1-1 team.

Both Columbia Falls and Whitefish made the Class A rankings after flawless starts. The Wildcats are ranked fourth and the Bulldogs fifth in the poll, following defending champion Billings Central at the top, Dillon and Belgrade. Belgrade, the only 1-1 team on the list dropped its only game of the season to Billings Central.

Despite an ugly opening loss, Polson still received confidence from one voter, picking up a fifth-place vote.

In Class B, Bigfork found itself at No. 5 in the opening poll. The Vikings round out the top half of the poll with defending champion Missoula Loyola, which hasn’t played yet this season, Glasgow, Huntley Project and Fairfield.

Eureka is tied for ninth in Class B with last season’s runner-up Malta.

In Class C, Ennis is the top-ranked 8-Man team and Hot Springs is the top 6-Man team.
