Repaving work planned on two Kalispell streets

The Montana Department of Transportation is proposing to resurface parts of First Avenue West and First Avenue East in Kalispell.

Proposed work would improve 1.18 miles of First Avenue West from Airport Road north to West Center Street.

The road would be milled with a new overlay applied between Fourth Street West and West Center Street.

About .34 miles of First Avenue East would be milled with a new overlay applied — excluding intersections — between Fifth Street East and East Center Street. Both roads would get improved pavement marking, signs and a chip seal. The work is meant to extend the life of the roadways.

No new right-of-way or utility relocations would be needed.
