Rain showers and cooler weather on Monday finally broke a record-breaking hot streak in the Flathead Valley.

Monday’s high temperature in the 70s was part of a cooling trend this week that could include showers through Wednesday.

Before the cool-down, scorching weather for September set or tied three records.

Saturday’s high of 86 degrees broke the record of 85 set on Sept. 14, 1937.
