Wayne L. Kennedy, 72

Wayne L. Kennedy passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.

He was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Rapid City, S.D., to Lyle and Elma Kennedy, the first of four children. 

Wayne served in the Navy aboard the USS St. Paul from 1958 to 1969. 

In 1962, Wayne married Iris Graham. They had two children, Wayne Jr. and Cindy. They later divorced. He married Deanna Cole Aug. 7, 1967. They had three children, Micheal, Rocky and Michelle. 

In Wayne’s early years he worked road construction. In 1976 the family moved to Coram. Wayne worked for Glacier National Park rescue crew and for the Montana  State Highway Department as a surveyor. In 1980 he went to work for the Sur Transport and Mayflower. Wayne also served as the chief of Coram’s Volunteer Fire Department. 

Wayne is survived by his wife, Deanna; son, Wayne Jr.; daughter, Cindy and Doug Walters, of Casper, Wyo.; son, Mike and Charlene Kennedy, of Joplin; daughter, Michelle Albin, of Columbia Falls; brother, Ron and Joan Kennedy; sister, Judy Davis; grandchildren, Ashley, Jarrell, Kassie, Amanda, Russell and Jason; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Destiny.

Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Rocky; grandson, Mikie; and brother, Larry.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
