Whitefish photographer is 'Treasured' Artist
Eric Reese of Whitefish is the latest “Treasured” Montana Artist.
Reese was awarded the honor by Secretary of State Linda McCulloch. Reese is a photographer who found his passion by looking for adventure in the Montana outdoors.
“Eric has an outstanding gift of being able to capture the beauty and essence of Montana,” McCulloch said. “His photographs are filled with rich tones of the changing leaves and clear mountain lakes that put you at ease when you look at them. It’s a perfect transition into the autumn season.”
Reese began to pursue his love for photography after spending time in Glacier National Park. The attraction is where Reese says he now spends time refining his craft.
“Living in Whitefish for the last 18 years, I have had the opportunity to capture Glacier National Park and some spectacular moments,” he said.
“One of the most evident aspects of my photography, that sets me apart from others, is the use of light and dramatic color.”
Reese’s work will be on display through December in the front lobby of the Secretary of State’s office, located in the Capitol in Helena.
“I launched this exhibit to showcase artists like Eric,” McCulloch said. “It is my pleasure to welcome him to the Capitol as our ‘Treasured’ Artist.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Past and present “Treasured” Montana Artist exhibits are featured in an online gallery at sos.mt.gov/gallery.
