| September 28, 2013 5:02 PM

Jeanette “JP” Helmot Krona, 71, passed away Sept. 24, 2013, with her family by her side at Immanuel Lutheran Home due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born Aug. 25, 1942 in Williston, N.D. to Peter and Clara (Killingstad) Helmot.

Her family settled in Whitefish where JP grew up and attended Whitefish schools.

She met Edward R. Krona, the love of her life, in 1957, and they married on June 11, 1960.

They had a daughter, Tamra Rose, in 1961, and a son, Peter John, followed in 1965.

JP was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother while her husband worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad; she attended to every detail. A decorated bowler, JP delighted in sharing time and laughter with friends at the bowling alley. She loved to go dancing with her husband, even in the kitchen at home. JP enjoyed decorating and was always willing to help others in coordinating their homes. The holiday season was always important, especially Christmas. She was always by her husband’s side in remodeling work and was never afraid to get dirty.

JP worked for Sandra’s Dress Shop from 1976 to 1980 on a part-time basis. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was married, and later attended Bible Study Fellowship for seven years. She also liked motorcycling, which she did from 1982 to 2000, traveling to Wisconsin, Colorado, Oregon, California and Washington, with many friends. She spent winters in Arizona for three years at Quartzsite and Yuma.

On Aug. 24, 2010, one day before her 68th birthday, she became a resident of the Bratzburg unit at Immanuel Lutheran Home, where she was cared for in an exceptional way.

JP was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Krona of Kalispell; a daughter, Tammy Arlint and husband John; son, Peter John Krona and wife Kena; a sister, Marge Hairell of Seattle; a sister-in-law, Debbie Burke and husband Dennis of Mesa, Ariz.; grandchildren, Bryan Sawyer, Adam and Sarah Arlint, Blaine Krona, Cody Evenson and husband Chance, and Taylor Stafford.

A memorial service for JP will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at First Presbyterian Church in Whitefish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for JP’s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view JP’s guest book, offer condolences and share memories.
