BILLINGS  — Jury selection was scheduled Wednesday in the case of a Billings man charged with a series of home invasion rapes reported last year.

District Judge Russell Fagg says selecting a jury to hear the case against 41-year-old Toby Griego could take up to three days. The trial is scheduled to begin Monday.

Prosecutors say Griego stalked his victims, broke into their homes as they slept, repeatedly raped them and took pictures with his cellphone. In two cases, he forced them to withdraw money from an ATM.

He faces 40 charges, including three counts of aggravated kidnapping.

Griego has been in custody since his arrest last August. His bail was set at $1 million.

He was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl in New Mexico in 1997.
