NorthWestern Energy to build new headquarters
BUTTE — NorthWestern Energy has an agreement to build a new $23 million Montana headquarters building in Butte.
The Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners approved a plan Wednesday for the company to build at the corner of Park and Main streets. The area of trees, grass and parking lots at the site is owned by the county.
Under the agreement, NorthWestern will try to find a buyer for the buildings it currently occupies. The county would have 18 months to explore options with the building if NorthWestern is unable to sell or dispose of it.
Pat Corcoran, NorthWestern’s vice president of government and regulatory affairs, says the agreement means construction will begin soon.
