Employee goes batty after being dismissed

The manager of an Airport Road business contacted the Kalispell Police Department after he let an employee go and the employee then threatened to assault him with a baseball bat before going to a business across the street to buy a bat. The incident was found to be verbal only and both men were counseled.

A Beargrass Lane woman called police after someone rang her doorbell and ran away. A responding officer found a package on her doorstep containing a stuffed animal, radio and a card. The woman believed it to be from her ex-husband, as their daughter’s birthday was the next day.

A woman was assaulted by her sister-in-law at a U.S. 93 South property, being grabbed by her hair, thrown to the ground and punched in the head. She suffered cuts to her head, face and hands, but refused medical treatment.

A man who reported his gun that had been stolen in Oklahoma was now at an East Idaho Street pawn shop later discovered the serial number on the pawn shop gun was similar, but not the same.

A roughly 20-year-old man was reported asking questions he didn’t need to know the answers to at a West Railroad Street property, possibly “casing the place.”

A First Avenue East woman reported her fence had been damaged and shared her concern of a possible crime spree in the area.

A U.S. Marine Corps hat, a gold coin, and several notebooks were taken from a First Avenue East motel room.

A man turned away from the emergency room for being too drunk was reported to police after driving away.

A report of a hallway in a U.S. 93 South hotel reeking of marijuana was determined to be unfounded.


A bouncer at a Central Avenue bar contacted the Whitefish Police Department after several men tried to get into the bar and were turned away by the bouncer, who said they had already been kicked out of another bar and might have been headed to a third bar.

A very drunk man was reported for driving away from a U.S. 93 property after getting into an argument with his wife in the parking lot.

A stash of prescription drugs was found beneath a bench in a Depot Street waiting room.

A man was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. 93 South for drunk driving.
