Ruth Lovering Ruggles, 77
Surrounded by family, Ruth Lovering Ruggles, 77, precious daughter of Forrest and Louisa (Barnum) Lovering, “quietly slipped into heaven” April 3, 2014.
Ruth was born March 19, 1937, in Peoa, Utah. She grew up in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School. She married Burdette Ruggles in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho on Aug. 31, 1959.
Ruth liked to read and garden, and she loved being outdoors, especially going to Glacier Park. She also loved to travel; actually, she loved the destination and not necessarily the travel to get there!
Ruth loved her family and spent every minute she could with them. She loved people and made many good friends during her lifetime, especially her much-loved second family at Fatt Boys. Ruth loved being active. She made giant wreaths at Snowline Tree Company, volunteered at the Food Bank and was always there when her family or friends had a project going on that she could help with. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Ruggles of Pennsylvania; daughter Brenda and Jim Fenger of Kalispell; grandchildren, Jackie Ruggles of Billings, Wendy Storey of Kalispell, and Shelby and Matt Kirton of Fort Campbell, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Athena and Aidian Storey, and Logan and Denver Dykstra; sisters, Linda and Larry Doty, and Marylin Lovering; sister-in-law, Maxine (Royden) Stubbs of Kalispell; plus many other relatives and friends who love her and will miss her.
Shelby put our feelings into words so beautifully, “Today heaven gained an amazing angel! She was so caring and loving with everyone. She was full of life and healthy. I am so thankful she got to come out and visit last summer! Never did we expect this to happen so fast. This all was within just a few weeks of finding out that she was very ill of cancer and other things going on! She will be loved and missed dearly! Grandma I love you.”
“Mom, sister, grandma, great-grandma and friend, Ruth, we love you.”
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. There will be a viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening and for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
