Glacier has named Ryan Billiet to head the boys’ soccer program at the school, pending school board approval.

Billiet, who has spent the last eight years as a varsity assistant at Whitefish, has also been a leader with the Flathead Rapids club program.

“These opportunities don’t come around very often,” Billiet said. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming talent and the current corps of kids they have there.

“The whole goal here is to expose them to a higher level of play. We want to raise the expectation level. To me it’s a blank canvas. I’m looking forward to starting fresh and seeing where we can take this thing.”

Billiet replaces former coach Cody Fierro, who resigned in March, and will be the third coach in as many years at Glacier. Fierro was 0-11-1 in one season with the Wolfpack. His predecessor, Ryan O’Rourke was 6-4-2 in his final season and led Glacier to three straight state tournaments from 2009-11.
