Man makes aggressive advances

A woman contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that a man in a gold-colored sport utility vehicle had picked her up while she was walking home and tried to rape her. She did not initially want to report the incident, but was convinced to call by her roommates.

A boy called to report that two other boys, ages 9 and 10, had been talking smack to him and he hit them, and that they had also hit him back. The parents of the victims, who are neighbors of the boy who called, did not wish to pursue any charges, instead wanting to handle the incident as a parenting issue.

A manic motorist in a black Audi A4 with tinted windows ran a truck off the road on Holt Stage Road, causing the truck to roll. The offending motorist slid into a ditch then took off. The driver of the truck suffered a cut finger, but declined medical treatment.

A Lakeside woman on Skookum Road reported someone set loose at least four big rabbits in her neighborhood that were now getting into her flower beds. She wanted advice on how to trap the roaming rabbits.

The principal of a Lakeside school reported problems with teenagers hanging around the school property after having previously been banned, and that he had found a knife belonging to one of them.

A very scared U.S. 2 East woman reported a man tried to run her over the prior night and told her he had a bullet with her name on in. She then asked how to pursue an order of protection.

A Whitefish Stage Road resident and former attendee of a church advised a man had been sending threatening letters to the former attendee and other members of the congregation.

A landlord who confronted a renter who had not paid rent reported the man became belligerent and threatened to run the landlord over. A deputy counseled both men.

A Hungry Horse woman complained that methamphetamine users were going through her Mountain Drive yard and walking through her gate on a regular basis.

A Minnesota Avenue man contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report he had finally found his stolen iPhone — in Missoula. The man said his phone was stolen a couple months ago and he had finally found it with a cellphone finder app after the phone was turned on in Missoula. The man eventually decided he did not want charges pressed and said he would handle it without law enforcement involvement.

The Columbia Falls Police Department received a pair of calls from a Second Avenue West woman complaining about her neighbor’s dogs barking constantly and sharing her fear that “it will just get worse as summer gets closer” and with her windows open.
