Stillwater Christian School girls basketball coach Denise Topp announced her retirement on Wednesday after seven years leading the Cougars. She finishes her career at SCS with a record of 121-40, including a state tournament record of 19-3.

In her time with the program, the Cougars have been the most successful MCAA program in the state, winning four state championships and never finishing worse than third at the state tournament.

Topp’s assistant coach, Sarah O’Rourke, will take over as head coach next season.

“I very much enjoyed being her assistant over the past seven years,” O’Rourke said. “I admire her and look up to her and respect her. She taught me a lot about basketball. Sad to see her go, I know it was a hard decision for her.”
