Miele column brings ironic enjoyment

I really enjoyed Frank Miele’s recent climate column in the Daily Inter Lake. According to Mr. Miele, climate science is part of a “campaign to marginalize conservatives and their traditional values.” Belief in climate science is “insidious, dangerous and potentially world-altering.” Our climate is changing, but “we don’t know why.”

You have to admire that kind of thinking. It doesn’t matter that Frank’s views are at odds with 97 percent of our climate scientists, or that the empirical evidence we see on a daily basis directly contradicts his claims. He knows what he knows, and he’s not going to let the facts change his mind.

Kudos to Mr. Miele. He’s so convinced that he’s right, and that our climate scientists are wrong, that he’s willing to wager the lives of our children and grandchildren. What more could we ask from the editor of our local newspaper?
