WHITEFISH — Carlee Brown, Breanna Friar and Winter Kemppainen all went 5 for 5 at the plate as Columbia Falls crushed Whitefish 27-3 in a Northwestern A softball game Monday night.
Columbia Falls scored in every inning. The Wildkats pushed 10 runs across the plate in the second inning.
Kemppainen, Courtney Murray and Samantha Collins hit doubles for Columbia Falls.
Malia Morris and Kenzie Carl both went 2 for 3 for Whitefish.
“It was encouraging for the Whitefish girls to score three runs and get hits off Ashley (Trueblood),” Whitefish coach Carrie Lamb said.
“At the same time, we need to fine-tune our defense. Columbia Falls has a great program and hit the ball.”
Columbia Falls had 33 hits to eight for Whitefish.
Both teams had three errors.
Whitefish (0-3 overall, 0-2 league) has a league game Thursday at Polson while Columbia Falls travels to Libby.
