Oliver North to headline banquet

 Oliver North will be the featured speaker at the Montana Family Foundation’s fundraising banquet Thursday, May 15, at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The Montana Family Foundation is a faith-based research, education and advocacy nonprofit organization working in association with Focus on the Family and CitizenLink to support, protect and strengthen Montana families.

A longtime friend of the organization, North served 22 years as a Marine officer and is a recipient of the Silver Star, Bronze Star for valor and two Purple Hearts awards for wounds in action. Assigned to the National Security Council staff during the Reagan administration, North was the U.S. government’s counter-terrorism coordinator from 1983 to 1986.

Since 2001, North has been the host of “War Stories,” an award-winning military documentary series on the Fox News Channel and has written 13 best-selling books. He serves on the board of directors of the National Rifle Association and is the founder of Freedom Alliance, a foundation providing scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel killed in the line of duty.
