Unruly dogs keep deputies on run
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a rash of reports of dog-related activity throughout the day Monday.
An armed man on Two Mile Drive threatened to shoot a woman’s dogs, a South Many Lakes Drive woman was educated on county dog ordinances after her dog attacked another dog, a Trumbull Canyon Road woman was counseled after her dogs attacked another dog, and another dog owner was counseled after the animal attacked first a dog and then that dog’s owner, who had to kick the dog in the face to keep from being injured.
A woman reported seeing between three and six UFOs in the sky from South Hilltop Road near Columbia Falls, describing them as varying in color while also noting that something else had been seen about 100 feet from her trailer the prior night.
A turkey was reported terrorizing people at the front entrance of a local hospital before winding up on the roof of the surgery center. On-site security reported they would try to capture it with a net when it came down.
A manic motorist in a gold-colored sport utility vehicle traveling roughly 90 miles per hour was reported for supposedly running another driver off the road on Montana 35.
A drunk woman walked into a Hungry Horse home on First Avenue South looking for a man. She then left, heading in the direction of a nearby bar.
A teen terror was reported by a Caroline Road resident for calling him names, bending his “no trespassing” signs and cutting his hose.
A disgusted Caroline Road man reported his neighbors had been throwing human feces over the fence into his yard.
The northbound lanes of U.S. 93 were blocked at Happy Valley for about 40 minutes due to a two-vehicle crash.
A man sleeping in a camper behind a Fly Way home was roused when he heard a noise, then discovering a man and woman had kicked in the front door of the house. He found them in his sister’s room and chased them out before calling the Kalispell Police Department to report they fled toward Cottonwood Park.
A 14-year-old girl who took in a loose husky reported, along with several other witnesses, that when the owner came to pick it up, the dog seemed afraid of him and that he started hitting and strangling the dog when he got it in his car.
A thirsty motorist was reported drinking a Budweiser while driving through a U.S. 93 North parking lot, with a baby in the car. A similarly thirsty man was arrested after fleeing a Third Avenue East North store with a pair of pints.
A man was arrested for partner or family member assault after a woman had to poke him with scissors to stop him from pushing, kicking and slapping her at an Eight Avenue West property.
A motorist reported a naked man standing next to Airport Road and that another man wearing only underwear jumped out in front of her as she was driving by.
A Grandview Drive man called to find out if something could be done to get the “crazy lady” to move out of an adjacent unit. He said officers would know what he was talking about.
A report of a person driving suspiciously slowly in front of a Fifth Avenue East North home turned out to be “one little old lady, waiting for another little old lady.”
A blazing truck was extinguished on First Avenue East North.
The Whitefish Police Department was drawn into a trio of neighbor disputes on Monday.
A snooping Suncrest Drive resident was reported by his neighbor for setting up a security camera aimed into the neighbor’s guest bedroom. The neighbors were reported to have a long-standing feud.
There was a report of a man looking inside a Glenwood Road woman’s vehicle. She confronted him and when she asked him what he was doing, he said “scaring you.” Police confirmed the neighbors don’t care for one another.
A concerned Columbia Avenue resident reported a neighbor for walking his dogs without leashes.
A diabetic man with an ear infection couldn’t hear when a friend or officers tried to check on him, leading to his door being kicked in by the concerned responders. He was found to be OK, and arrangements were made to have his door fixed.
An annoyed Ninth Street West woman contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department to report her neighbors had turned off her electricity and tipped over her garbage cans.
