End of a dream, but not end of bridge-building
The last month has been hard for me. I was forced to let go of a dream. But that’s OK. We’ve all had our share of dreams that have not been realized.
I feel it is time to move on from my time as owner of the Old Steel Bridge. I would encourage others to examine what they are doing and why. Why are we trying to accumulate more and more stuff? Our poor kids will have to throw it away when we’re gone.
My goal through this whole bridge project was to make the world a better place than I found it. We got the tunnel under U.S. 93. Trail projects seem to be moving forward. People using the trails and enjoying the outdoors are healthier and happier.
I have also found peace. Ending the long struggle on a positive note is very rewarding. Thanks to all who worked with me on this project. The Old Steel Bridge will live on in our fond memories of her. Hopefully, we will, too. Thanks for listening.
