Work day planned for Glacier Institute
The Glacier Institute is having its annual Volunteer Work Day Saturday, May 3. The day will begin at 9 a.m.
Volunteers are needed for cleaning, painting, light carpentry and outdoor work such as raking, sweeping and many other tasks.
Volunteers are needed at both the Glacier Park Field Camp (in Glacier National Park one mile north of West Glacier) and Big Creek Outdoor Education Center (on the North Fork Road 21 miles north of Columbia Falls).
Lunch will be provided at both camps and a group dinner will be provided for everyone at Big Creek that evening. Volunteers may stay over at the camps but will need to call to reserve a spot.
Tools are not required, but carpentry tools, rakes, shop vacuums, wheelbarrows and work gloves are needed and would be appreciated.
Those interested should RSVP by contacting the Glacier Institute at 755-1211 or register@glacierinstitute.org.
After you RSVP, you will receive a follow-up email that includes details, specific equipment to bring and meeting place.
The Glacier Institute serves adults and children as an educational leader in the Crown of the Continent ecosystem, emphasizing outreach and field-based learning experiences.
