Man says they're ganging up on him

A bullied Badrock Drive man contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after another man assaulted his mother and then pulled a handgun on him, cocking it and telling him to run. He also said he had been punched and attacked by the assailant, the man’s mother and another man, that he captured the assault on video and he believed they stole 10 firearms from his home.

A pre-teen, pit bull-toting girl on a skateboard was reported trying to use her board to pry open the garage door of a former appliance store on Montana 35. She said she had lost some things in there earlier. A responding deputy said the door had been pried open about four inches with “something much stronger than a skateboard.”

A man who said his wife was attacking him ended up being the one arrested for partner or family member assault after deputies responded to the Conrad Drive home and he refused to separate himself from the woman. Both of them were drunk and the woman’s screaming led to another sheriff’s office response when a neighbor complained several hours later.

A clerk at a U.S. 2 East business reported a drunk man and woman were refusing to leave and the woman threatened her and tried to steal a sandwich. The clerk asked if she could hit them if they returned, but she was advised against it.

A girlfriend trying to guard her boyfriend said her father hit her boyfriend with a fireplace poker at a McDermott Lane home, leading to the boyfriend holding him down before leaving.

A pair of people reported being defrauded. One said someone accessed credit card information to purchase items online and the other said someone used their identity to get a loan.

An honest man stopped by the Sheriff’s Office after being given a chain saw and other items by a man who said the items were stolen.

A Quail Ridge Drive resident accidentally dialed 911 by hitting the emergency button while trying to erase messages.

Someone punched a hole in the gas tank of a vehicle on Gray Lane and siphoned out the fuel.

An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from an unlocked garage on U.S. 93 South in Lakeside.


A technologically ticked-off Two Mile Drive man contacted the Kalispell Police Department to report his computer was hacked, saying he had received a phone call from someone who said he needed to buy antivirus software or something bad would happen to his computer, then said they destroyed his computer and he wanted justice. He was counseled and given information to contact a federal agency.

An officer stopped a pair of bicyclists late Thursday night on Fourth Avenue West and advised them to get lights on their bicycles if they insisted on riding in the street.

A motorist swerving all over the road on North Main Street was found not to be drunk, but to be “very small.”

A frustrated father on Rosewood Drive said his daughter’s bicycle had been stolen for the second time.

A woman was cited for theft and banned from a Hutton Ranch Road store after being caught shoplifting.


An annoyed East Third Street woman contacted the Whitefish Police Department to complain about people running into other people’s yards with laser guns and that they were in her yard now, drinking and playing loud music. She refused to give her name or phone number, but asked that the party be checked out and that the people stay on their own property. The raucous partygoers were counseled.

A report of gunshot ricochets near a Dakota Avenue home was determined to be people across the street throwing a baseball against some plywood.

A Glenwood Drive man reported a neighbor had been burning and the fire crossed into and burned his property, doing some damage.

A white Dodge Dakota pickup truck was stolen from a Somers Avenue driveway.


An observant employee contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after overhearing a pair of girls talking about robbing a Ninth Street West store. The citizen said one girl said, “I don’t know if I can rob them, my parents would kill me.”

A flustered Fourth Street East woman reported several thefts from her home and discovering someone had unscrewed her porch light.

Someone kicked and punched holes in the walls of outdoor bathrooms on Nucleus Avenue.
