Arrest follows fight that played out on 911 call

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 31-year-old man on Burns Street in Somers on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor partner or family member assault after his girlfriend called 911 and was overheard yelling to not touch her children, then yelling “Ow, ow!” Children were also heard screaming. Two boys ended up on the phone, one saying his mother was bleeding from her head and another saying he was hit on the nose and was now bleeding.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested on preliminary misdemeanor charges of theft and criminal contempt as well as revocation of a suspended sentence after she was accused of stealing a purse at a U.S. 2 East business, leading to a fight in the parking lot with two other women who eventually got control of her and held her until deputies arrived.

A surprised Somers man on Old U.S. 93 South reported he returned home and found a very confused elderly woman walking around his home. It was later determined that she had dementia and had wandered off that morning. A deputy called her son in Idaho who contacted his father, who picked her up.

A Marion man on Pleasant Valley Road reported possible squatters had cut down several trees on state property to move a mobile home in. He was given the phone number for the U.S. Forest Service’s law enforcement agency to advise them of the activity.

A report of a Witty Lane resident’s dogs dragging garbage through the neighborhood and making a mess turned out to have been a bear that got into the trash. The trash had already been cleaned up by the time a deputy arrived.

A woman called from out of state to report her 4- and 7-year-old children were staying at a Harmony Road home where they were being exposed to drugs and not being fed. 

A Ridgewood Drive resident reported hearing a large explosion in the area followed by the trailer park losing power, although the resident was unable to see any smoking transformers.

A bag of trash was reported ripped open with trash spread across U.S. 93 South near Whitefish, causing at least one motorist to swerve into another lane to avoid hitting it.

A woman stopped by the sheriff’s office to drop off a bong to be destroyed that someone had thrown in her yard, west of town.


 

 An Ashley Drive woman contacted the Kalispell Police Department to get help breaking into her own home after locking herself out of her house late Tuesday night. Her 11-year-old son was inside, but she couldn’t get him to wake up. An officer helped her get back inside and confirmed it was indeed her home before leaving.

A concerned Kara Drive woman called police after a man told her 9-year-old son he was going to stab their dog to death, also pushing her 15-year-old son.

A Fourth Avenue West woman reported a man became verbally abusive on the phone with her, using profanities, after she said she wasn’t interested in a gift certificate he claimed she had won.


 

 The Whitefish Police Department received a pair of reports of suspicious activity in the area of Iron Horse Drive, with objects thrown in the road, traffic cones removed then put back in both lanes of the road and practice balls stolen from the adjacent golf course.


 

 The owner of a Ninth Street West business contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after escorting an employee outside who then threw plates on the ground, picked up one of the broken pieces and threatened to cut him.

Several items were stolen from a vehicle on Nucleus Avenue.
