BIGFORK — Whitefish tennis earned a narrow sweep of Bigfork in a nonconference dual on a dreary overcast day Tuesday.

The Bulldog boys had a strong performance, taking all but one match and sweeping the singles. Holden Roberts, Logan Blades, Nathan Fauth and Jack Brandt each picked up straight set victories for Whitefish.

The team of Isaac Martel and Adam Jordt was the only group to pick up a victory for the Bigfork boys, beating Bailey Jack and Tommy Murphy 6-2, 7-6 (4).

The girls dual was much closer, the Valkyries taking two of three doubles matches. Genovieve Gibson picked up Bigfork’s sole singles victory.

But it was a narrow win at No. 2 singles by Whitefish’s Slone Ellis that sealed the match. Ellis edged Kalia Wicklund 7-6 (9), 6-4 in the closest match of the day to ensure a Bulldogs victory.

Bigfork is back on the court Thursday to host Ronan and Whitefish heads south on Friday for duals against Hamilton and Corvallis.
