World-class drummer brings rhythms to Kalispell

World-famous drummer Kenny Aronoff  will perform on Wednesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at Glacier High School. 

Aronoff is one of the world's most influential and in-demand drummers. He has worked with a long list of the world’s most famous musicians, including John Mellencamp, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Seger, John Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge, Jon Bon Jovi, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Alanis Morissette, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Puddle of Mudd, Avril Lavigne, Joe Cocker, B. B. King, Mick Jagger, Ray Charles, Alice Cooper, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Raitt, Ricky Martin, Santana, Trey Anastasio, Michelle Branch, Vince Gill, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville, Trisha Yearwood, Patti LaBelle, George Jones, Conway Tritty, The Buddy Rich Big Band and many others.  

Aronoff’s innovative style and solid backbeat became the driving force behind Mellencamp's long run of definitive hit records in the 1980s and ’90s, including “American Fool,” “Scarecrow,” “Uh Huh,” The Lonesome Jubilee” and beyond. 

Another of Aronoff’s longterm gigs is as the longtime drummer for John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame, recording and touring with Fogerty steadily for more than 15 years.

Aronoff has performed at several recent Kennedy Center Honors programs held annually in Washington D.C. His latest performance was in a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show on Feb. 9, 1964. Kenny performed nine songs with a variety of musicians for a program that aired on CBS on Feb. 9.
