Ronan spills Eureka in softball doubleheader

EUREKA — Alaina Madsen struck out eight batters in both games as Ronan swept a softball doubleheader from Eureka on Monday.

Ronan used a 13 run fifth inning to post a 24-2 victory in the opener. Ronan took advantage of 12 Eureka errors in that one.

Ronan came back to win the second game, 11-1.

Laura Williams singled to left field in the bottom of the second inning to drive in two runs in the opener for Eureka.

Stacy Cooper singled in the bottom of the fifth to left field to drive in Eureka’s lone run in the second game.

Courtney Lemer had two hits for Eureka in the second game.

Eureka (2-8 overall, 2-8 league) plays a doubleheader at Troy today, 4 and 6 p.m., and hosts Drummond for two games on Friday, noon and 2 p.m.
