Inter Lake staff shows support for advertisers
Daily Inter Lake staff members spent a bucket of dollars on local advertisers’ products and services in June — more than $47,985 in fact.
To demonstrate the newspaper’s commitment to our advertisers, Publisher Rick Weaver initiated a contest for Inter Lake employees to submit receipts for anything purchased from those advertisers. They were dropped in a bucket, with the employee’s name written on the back. Not everyone participated, but more than 250 receipts were turned in.
At the end of the month, a drawing was held and the lucky winner picked up a $100 gift certificate to the advertiser of their choice. This month’s winner was Business Manager Dorothy Glencross.
The total on the scorecard was $47,985.92, but that was literally a drop in the bucket. Because this was the first time the contest was held, most of the receipts came from a small number of staff members. So next month, we will hold the contest again, with a goal toward increasing participation to get a true picture of just how much we at the Daily Inter Lake support our sponsors.
Advertising in the Daily Inter Lake is a two-way street.
