Traffic messes with woman's tee time

A woman called the Whitefish Police Department on Friday from a location on U.S. 93 West. The woman told dispatch that there was “no one directing traffic or allowing through a path to get into the golf course,” and that she had missed her tee time and “a lot of people were upset.”

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision Saturday afternoon on U.S. 2 East. One rolled over, but no major injuries were reported.

A vehicle being used for pizza delivery was stolen from a location on U.S. 93 South while the reporting party was indoors for about 10 minutes and left the keys in the vehicle. The vehicle had the restaurant’s sign on top of it, and was later recovered by police on State Park Road and returned to its owner.

A man in his late 20s was reported passed out at a location on Spokane Avenue early Saturday morning. Police got the man a taxi.

A man walked into a location on U.S. 93 South just after 3 a.m. Saturday and found the business to be wide open. He called police and told them he walked in to use the phone. He was intoxicated and trying to find his vacation home in Whitefish. Police gave him a ride there.


The Kalispell Police Department found that the local graffiti artist/vandal is back at it again Friday when the restrooms and pool at Woodland Park were found spray-painted.

A White Jeep Grand Cherokee was spray-painted on Appleway Drive sometime Thursday night.

A group of males were reported Friday in Woodland Park for being intoxicated and urinating in public.

Two women were seen fistfighting on West Idaho Street on Friday. Both were very bloody, but refused medical assistance, and both were cited and released.

A man was chased by two vicious border collies on Dern Road. The owner of the dog was cited for dogs at large and vicious dogs.

A man called to report a .22 caliber handgun missing from his vehicle after having the car serviced at a location on East Idaho Street.

A customer at a location on First Avenue East accidentally dropped his “dope baggie” on the counter, then grabbed it, put it back in his pocket, and went straight to the bathroom. The caller reported seeing white powder in the bag. No telling where the powder went when the owner took it into the restroom. Nose and toilet are two possibilities.

A man called police Saturday morning saying that he was coming down from his high and was paranoid. The man admitted to taking meth and told dispatch that “he cannot sleep, is seeing people, he does not feel safe.” When officers arrived on scene, the man said he didn’t want help; he just wanted to let the police know what was going on with him.

A woman was cited and released for shoplifting at a location on First Avenue East North on Saturday.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on criminal trespass charges Friday on Sixth Avenue West.
