Council to hold hearing on Haugen Heights subdivision

| August 4, 2014 6:45 AM

The Whitefish City Council tonight will hold a public hearing on a proposed 15-lot subdivision on Haugen Heights Road.

Bret Walcheck of 48 North Engineering, on behalf of Whitefish West Limited Partnership, has requested preliminary plat approval for Timber Ridge on 4.39 acres at 265 Haugen Heights Road.

City staffers have recommended approval of Timber Ridge.

The council also will vote on an annexation request for two lots on East Lakeshore Drive.

In other business, the council also is expected to discuss the formation of a new city Planning Board in light of the recent Montana Supreme Court decision that turned planning control of the “doughnut” area over to Flathead County.

The regular council meeting begins at 7:10 p.m. at Whitefish City Hall. Preceding the regular meeting, the council will hold a work session starting at 6:30 p.m. to interview candidates for the Library and Park boards.
