Marvel was born in Whitefish to Ephrium and Sadie Street on Nov. 13, 1928. Marvel grew up in a large family that was invested and instrumental in building their community. She graduated from Whitefish High School and married her husband, Clayton Logan, the following day, May 20, 1947.
Marvel spent many years as a stay-at-home mother with her children while they were young. As her children grew older she worked at Dairy King in Columbia Falls. For most of her life, Marvel was an avid gardener and loved her rose bushes. She was a wonderful cook, often using harvest from her own garden.
Marvel inherited a love and talent for baking and has passed this legacy forward. She took time each year to make Christmas cookies and party mix for her extended family — a tradition that lives on in her grandchildren. For many years, Marvel not only baked specialty birthday and wedding cakes for family members but she ran her own cake decorating business from home.
Marvel was also gifted in knitting quilts, sewing and hand making greeting cards, all of which she would give as gifts.
Throughout her life, Marvel dedicated herself to serving others through ministry. Marvel loved the Lord and took time each day to read her Bible and “Our Daily Bread” devotional. She and her husband, Clayton, became members of First Baptist Church in 1958. As a member, Marvel served the church in many different capacities including; Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and helper, treasurer, and as an active member of the Missionary Circle.
Marvel was a strong, quiet spirit that will be missed by all. She spent her final years in the care of The Beehive Assisted Living Facility in Columbia Falls. Although Marvel may not have expressed it in words, her gratitude for their loving care was demonstrated by her frequent and genuine smiles.
