Rory Dale Abraham, 54
Rory Dale Abraham, 54, passed away July 12, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born in Cavalier, N.D., to Ron and Shirley (Carlson) Abraham. He spent the first few years on the family farm, followed by moves to Montana, Washington, Maryland and Minnesota, returning to Montana and graduating from Kalispell High School in 1978.
He attended Montana State University-Bozeman, graduating in 1982 with a business degree. He remained a lifelong Bobcat fan.
Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for three years with a rank of first lieutenant, then as a captain in the Reserves.
As a young man he fell in love, but sadly, when that engagement ended he remained a bachelor, never making room in his heart for anyone else.
Rory had a sharp wit with an insatiable interest in history and all things political. He served as a Republican County chairman from 1987 to 1999. He successfully ran campaigns for Republican candidates.
He owned and operated the Super-Stop in Kalispell for 12 years. In 2000, he relocated to Arizona where he finished his career working for Raytheon as a cost estimator for military contracts.
He will be forever remembered as “Uncle Buck” by his nephews and nieces. They will be telling stories about their adventures with him for years to come.
Rory is survived by his parents, Ron and Shirley Abraham, of Green Valley, Ariz., and Lakeside; his siblings, Cindy Guthrie of Lolo, Lin and Dan Martin of Big Timber, and Terry and Renee Price of Amberg, Wis.; as well as seven nieces and nephews, Matt, Muranda, Megan and Bretz, and Katie Brenna, Justin Brown of Livingston, and Andy Brown and Lucas Lee of Livingston.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emily and Bill Abraham, and Florence and Anton Carlson; and a brother-in-law, Marty Guthrie.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Vista Linda in Lakeside.
