Work to begin on Yellowstone project

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — A $15 million project to improve infrastructure at the Yellowstone National Park gateway community of Gardiner, Montana, will begin soon.

During the summer, the community of fewer than 600 year-round residents sees some 1.3 million visitors passing through the North Entrance to Yellowstone.

The project is designed to improve deficiencies to infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion, enhance parking and provide for better pedestrian accessibility as well as increased vehicle and pedestrian safety.  

The project is expected to be done in 2016.
