Crashes keep crews hopping

The axle of a tractor trailer pup from Alberta sits in the Middle of U.S. 2 just west of Marias Pass Tuesday afternoon after the westbound truck struck a eastbound pickup truck from Texas. The pickup was heavily damaged, but the occupants apparently escaped any life-threatening injuries. Traffic was backed up about a half mile. Three Rivers Ambulance, Montana Highway Patrol, Glacier and Flathead County sheriff's offices responded to the scene.
