There are a few active logging projects on the Flathead National Forest and drivers on forest roads are asked to slow down and use caution.

Loaded logging trucks have reduced response time, which makes it important for drivers to be alert and responsive when encountering logging trucks.

— Hungry Horse-Glacier View Ranger District: As part of the Whitefish Mountain Resort ski area expansion project, there will be log hauling on sections of Road 316 (Big Creek-Canyon Creek Road) until Sept. 15.

— Spotted Bear Ranger District: As part of the Cedar Chipmunk Road contract, there will be short delays up to 30 minutes on Road 549 (Bunker Creek Road) and Road 2829 (Cedar Creek Road).

There also are log trucks hauling on Road 895 (West Side Reservoir Road) and periodically on Road 38 (East Side Reservoir Road). There is high recreation traffic on these roads and all users are asked to drive slowly and responsibly.

— Swan Lake Ranger District: As part of the Glacier Loon sales log hauling is underway in the Lindbergh Lake area on sections of Road 79 (Lindbergh Lake Road), Road 561(Kraft Creek Road) and Road 9591. This project is expected to run through Jan. 1, 2015. There is also hauling in the Swan Lake area on Fenby Lane as part of the Six Mile sale.
