Roy S. Dimond, 89
Roy S. Dimond, 89, passed away on Aug. 10, 2014.
Roy was loved by many who shared his passion for life, the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and hunting. He was an Eagle Scout and a Sea Scout.
Roy was a longtime member of the Audubon Society and local hiking clubs.
Roy proudly served the U.S.A. in the U.S. Navy during World War II, including combat in Okinawa and Iwo Jima, Japan. He was a 60-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) as an electrician.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn Krieg Dimond’ and his sister. Barbara Dimond Hoback.
He is survived by his nephews, Mike Hoback and Robert Fischer and family.
A service for "veterans only" will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Kalispell VFW. A celebration of life for all others will be held at Sykes’ in the near future. The date and time will be published in the Daily Inter Lake.
