Fredrick 'Clint' Ellis, 55
Fredrick “Clint” Ellis, 55, of Kila was killed by a careless driver July 29, 2014, while traveling to work.
Clint was born to Armistead Ellis and Jayne Jones (both now deceased) on July 27, 1959, in Evanston, Illinois. Shortly after graduating from high school, he moved to Kila where he stayed for the rest of his life.
Clint loved and strongly preferred his hillbilly lifestyle and was proud of it. He spent years in the woods cutting firewood, hiking or searching for character logs to build furniture. Clint had a very creative mind and would constantly be coming up with witty jokes, songs, bumper stickers, T-shirts and even a movie screenplay.
He was also a family man and lived for his children Sharon, Melissa and Jake Ellis, and more recently, his grandson Zebadiah. He was greatly looking forward to his son's upcoming 18th birthday, walking his daughter down the aisle on her approaching wedding day, and watching his grandson grow up. Clint was a proud grandpa, a loving father, a beloved brother and an unconditional friend. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed by many.
Those that were lucky enough to have known Clint are invited to join his family in celebrating his life on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, at McGregor Lake. We will toast to his memory at 4 p.m. behind the McGregor Lake Resort.
