McDaniels, Frank lead Polson golfers at season opener
ANACONDA — Polson had three individuals open the season with solid efforts at the Old Works Invitational golf tournament on Monday at Old Works Golf Course.
Carson McDaniels led the boys with an 8-over-par 80, which was good for third-place overall. Reno Lindesmith checked in with an 86, which earned him a tie for sixth place.
In girls play, Heather Frank carded a 93. That put her in the third spot. Teammate Peyton Anderson, 102, was fifth.
Medalist honors went to Anaconda’s Caleb Stetzner, with a 72, and Emily Morley, who carded an 87.
Hamilton, 338, was a 20-stroke winner in boys team play over Anaconda. Polson, 369, tied Dillon for fourth place.
Frenchtown, 421, was the only girls team to field a full squad.
Polson will compete in the Whitefish Invitational on Wednesday at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. Play starts at 1 p.m. with the boys on the South Course and the girls on the North Course.
