'Officer, help, we're high on meth'

Two people who were admittedly high on meth requested help from a Border Patrol officer, who notified the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office early Tuesday morning near Columbia Falls.

A saddle was reported stolen from inside a pickup truck near Marion.

Equipment was stolen from a work site near Somers, including a nailer and a leaf blower.

A concerned citizen called authorities when she saw a pony near Helena Flats Road that appeared to be malnourished. The caller said that the pony’s hip bones and spine were visible. Officers followed up with the owner, who said that the pony was on a special diet from its veterinarian.

A man called from an Abbey Road location about tools that were stolen from a job site two years ago. The man said that he reported it at the time, but “he got busy and forgot to follow up.”

An injured St. Bernard dog was found on U.S. 2 East and taken to a local shelter.

A Kila woman called police saying that her neighbors kept their goats tied up in a field. She was wondering if this would be considered animal cruelty due to predatory animals in the area.


Whitefish Police responded to a call on Ashar Avenue on Tuesday evening when a woman said that someone was shining a light into her bedroom window. Police checked out the area and offered extra patrol.

A one-vehicle accident left a vehicle lodged under a guardrail Monday night on U.S. 93 West.

Several flooding problems were reported in Whitefish on Wednesday evening.


The Kalispell Police Department was called Tuesday when a small dog “like from the Wizard of Oz” was running through traffic on U.S. 93 and West Reserve Drive.

A man and woman were cited and released after stealing a case of Mike’s Twisted Tea, an alcoholic beverage, from a location on Sixth Street West on Tuesday.

A citizen called in a group of juveniles at Depot Park that were allegedly drinking alcohol in the bathrooms.

Someone requested a welfare check on a man in a wheelchair asleep on the side of the road along U.S. 93 South on Wednesday.

A different welfare check was requested after a man was seen passed out by the highway on U.S. 93 South, staggering and convulsing, “possibly on drugs,” according to the caller.

A report of a suspicious man was taken Wednesday afternoon when a man was seen walking on Bountiful Drive with a knife strapped to each leg. Police made contact with the man, who had taken the knives off, and was inside a nearby cafe eating with his family.
