Carolyn Jellar, 68
Carolyn Jellar “went to be with the Lord” at her residence on Aug. 18, 2014.
She was born May 31, 1946, in Billings. She was one of five children born to Otto and Beryl Sasse. She grew up on the Painted Robe Ranch in Eastern Montana. As a child, Carolyn enjoyed working on the ranch and had become an avid horseback rider. She graduated from Lavina High School in 1964.
After graduating, Carolyn moved to Roundup, While in Roundup, she fell in love with John, her future husband. They were married in 1966, and were blessed with a son, Peter. Two years later, they were blessed again with a daughter, Shannon. Carolyn devoted all her energy into raising her family with love.
Her family moved to the beautiful Flathead Valley in 1972. They moved out to their Lower Valley lake home shortly after arriving to the area. Carolyn always felt blessed to have found such a beautiful place to raise a family. She was a gracious hostess to any guest who knocked on her front door. The guests had a great time and always stayed longer than they had expected.
While living in the Flathead Valley, she had an extensive career as a legal Justice Court clerk. She worked for five different judges throughout her 31 years. Carolyn treated everyone with respect and fairness. She especially liked substituting for judges and performing weddings throughout the valley. She even had some really great stories about getting lost while searching for some remote wedding sites.
Carolyn and John spent many years traveling to warmer climates during the cold winter months. They spent 25 years in Costa Rica and one year in Arizona. They had many wonderful adventures and made many long-lasting friendships along their way.
To her family, Carolyn was the glue that bonded everyone together. Her warm, positive and caring nature was felt by all of her family. She was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. Plus, her charismatic personality attracted many friends during her 68 years of life. Carolyn will be dearly missed by all those who were touched by her caring ways.
Her strong belief in the Lord helped Carolyn persevere through the most difficult times in her life.
“Now she is with the Lord and angels in heaven.”
May she always hold a place in your heart and a memory in your mind. Thank you for 68 wonderful years!
