The Whitefish Police Department responded to complaints of a homeless woman who had camped out in front of the library. The woman, estimated to be in her 60s, had spent the last few nights there. She was informed she had to move along.

She had left her belongings in a nearby bush, and after she left, the reporting party threw the items in the trash. Unsurprisingly, when the woman came back to where she had been staying, she took her things out of the trash. The initial reporting party then called the police again and wanted her fined for littering.

Several boys and girls on bikes were weaving in and out of traffic on Spokane Avenue. At least one of them took a tumble in front of a car. According to the reporting party, they were telling motorists and pedestrians to “go [expletive] themselves.”

A caller on Spokane Avenue reported several large planters of flowers had been moved onto her business’s porch. They likely belonged to a real estate agency down the street, but were so heavy the caller could not move them.

Several men on East Second Street were screaming at each other and cursing. An officer told them to stop, which they did after apologizing.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office performed a water rescue at 3:09 p.m. No details were available.

A Columbia Falls woman on Third Avenue West called police regarding a suspicious vehicle parked near her driveway. The vehicle was covered in “religious writing” and was creeping the caller out.

A light colored Volkswagen was driven into a ditch near North Hilltop Road. Officers cleared the scene before a private towing company came at the owner’s expense.

The Polson Police Department made an arrest for disorderly conduct at the Polson Rodeo Grounds at 11:07 a.m.
