Jail Commander Bill Smith makes his way through D block at the Flathead County Detention Center on Friday morning. The block, which was originally designed to hold six inmates, currently holds eight. The number of new inmates accepted begins to be restricted when the jail reaches 92 in holding. Since January of this year, the average number of inmates has been 101. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
