Gary Whitney, 62

Gary  Whitney, 62, of Kalispell, “fell asleep” in death with his devoted wife and family by his side on Aug. 18, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Vermont on April 11, 1952, where he lived until 1997, he moved to Kalispell where he resided until his death.

Gary was well known for his faithful service to his God Jehovah which included his ministry from house to house and wherever he came in contact with people. He was also admired for his deep love for his family.

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Brown Whitney; his daughter, Tina Whitney, of Maricopa, Ariz.; and son, Spencer Whitney, and wife, Kelley, of Kalispell; brother, Carl Whitney, and wife, Dorothy, of Tunbridge, Vt.; sister, Sonia Johnson, and husband, Richard, of Barre, Vt.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Ernest Whitney; mother, Dorothy Whitney; and sister, Marcia Whitney.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the following Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses: 1 p.m., 100 Valley View Court, Kalispell; noon, 15410 South 5th Avenue, Phoenix; 3 p.m., 2070 Airport Road, Berlin, Vt.
