Thousands take to the slopes
More than 3,000 skiers and boarders hit the slopes to start Whitefish Mountain Resort’s 67th season on Saturday.
The skiers and riders were treated to some new snow and new terrain with the opening of the Flower Point triple chair on the back side of the mountain.
“It went really well,” resort spokesperson Riley Polumbus said of the opening. “People seemed excited about the new lift and exploring new terrain and enjoying really good snow conditions.”
The Flower Point lift provides the resort an additional 200 acres. Polumbus said this new terrain offers skiers some of the best early season conditions.
As of 3 p.m., a total of 3,240 people had visited the resort.
