Wrestling: Mat Cats win 3 at Polson Invitational
POLSON — Three-time Class A defending state champion Shonn Roberts took the individual title at 138 pounds on Saturday at the Polson Invitational wrestling tournament.
Roberts pinned Dylan Duffalo of Missoula Sentinel in the final in 3:35.
Columbia Falls had three champions total in its season opener.
Mikey Denison won by pin at 182 as did Spencer Ross at heavyweight.
Columbia Falls, 162 points, finished second behind Sentinel, 238.
Glacier, 111, was third.
The Wolfpack had four runners-up — Justin Gibson at 113, Cody Decker at 145, Quinn Barber at 152 and Isaac Sanez at 170.
Sam Barber was forth at 132.
“I thought Isaac was a bright spot,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said.
“He has the right tools to be successful and today he proved it.”
Eureka had two finalists — Zach Durden at 120 and Garrett White at 126. Both finished second.
Whitefish’s Judah Presegaard was second at 160.
