Hill climbs to sixth

LAS VEGAS — A night after eight bull riders posted scores during the seventh performance of the PRCA National Finals Rodeo — the most of any round — eight more earned prize money during Thursday’s performance in Las Vegas.

West Glacier’s Beau Hill rode out Sandi’s Dream for an 81.5, the fifth best mark of the night.

J.W. Spears earned the highest score of 85.5 atop Johnny Ramone, as he edged out Ty Wallace’s 85 upon Nashville.

Sage Kimzey posted the third-best score of the eighth go with an 84.5 on Guns & Donuts. Kimzey grew his total in the world standings to $250,897 — nearly $100,000 ahead of Trey Benton III in second.

Entering the event ranked 13th, Hill now sits in sixth with $102,711.

Rodeo action continues tonight at the Thomas & Mack Center where Hill will ride Hokie Pokie during the ninth of 10 performances.
