Tip-off Hoop Classic: C-Falls cruises by Stevi

MISSOULA — Three players scored in double figures and Columbia Falls was at its offensive best in the middle two quarters on Saturday for a 75-52 boys basketball victory at the Northwest and Southwest Class A Tip-Off Classic  at the University of Montana.

Columbia Falls (3-1) outscored Stevensville 43-24 in the middle quarters en route to a 23-point victory.

Ty Morgan led the offense with 20 points. Grant Wallace followed with 16 points and Jayce Fagerland added 14.

Bryce Torrey scored 19 points for Stevensville, which trailed 39-23 at the half.

MISSOULA — Whitefish (2-1) outscored Anaconda 25-8 in the third quarter en route to the victory.

Anaconda led 30-27 at the half.

AJ Wetsch led Whitefish, and all scorers, with 25 points.

MISSOULA — Bigfork broke the 20-point barrier in the first, second and third periods on its way to a lopsided victory over Polson.

Bigfork, up 47-24 at the half, was led by Isaac Martel’s 21 points. Ryder Trent was next with 14.

MISSOULA — Columbia Falls (4-0) jumped out to a 30-1 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back in whipping Stevensville.

Columbia Falls held a 47-5 advantage at the half.

Winter Kemppainen and Ciera Finberg led the scoring parade for the Wildkats with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Eleven Wildkats figured in the scoring.

MISSOULA — Hamilton used a big second quarter to pull away for an easy victory over Libby (1-2).

Hamilton outscored the Loggers 24-2 in the second stanza for a 32-6 halftime lead.

Taylor Goligoski had another big scoring effort with 27 points. She tallied 22 on Friday.

Hailey Craig and Devon Gallagher scored six each for Libby.
