Bigfork, Stillwater sweep on hardwood

EUREKA — Bigfork held on to pull out an 80-74 District 7B boys basketball victory over Eureka on Thursday evening.

Jonathan Landon and Ryder Trent led the Vikings (2-1 overall, 2-0 league) in scoring with 20 and 19 points, respectively.

Eureka’s Trey Bohne, a senior guard, led all scorers with 29 points. He had four treys in the contest.

Brother Chase Bohne, a sophomore guard, dropped in 21 points. He had six 3s in the game, four coming in the fourth quarter.

Stillwater Christian used a fast start to blast Flathead Valley Home School in a Montana Christian Athletic Association West Division game at Stillwater Christian School.

Stillwater (2-3) held a commanding 57-25 lead at the half.

Isaac Newmann led Stillwater, and all scorers, with 25 points.  BJ Bach added 20.

Jordan Sproul topped Flathead Valley with 19 points.

Serena Koch tallied a game-high 21 points and provided some timely points down the stretch to help Stillwater Christian defeat Flathead Valley Home School in Montana Christian Athletic Association West Division play at Stillwater Christian School.

Koch hit three free throw and two treys in the final eight minutes to finish with nine points for the quarter. She had four 3s for the game.

Stillwater’s Sarah Paolini scored seven of her 11 points in the final frame to go with 17 rebounds.

Dori Smith had 10 rebounds and eight points for Stillwater (4-2, 2-0).

Victoria Hanson led a balanced Flathead Valley attack with 15 points. Karissa Williams tallied 12 and Lexi Ehlers added 11.

BIGFORK — Lana Berg scored 10 of Bigfork’s 14 points in the second quarter and Miranda Campbell tallied 12 of the team’s 20 points in the third period to help the Valkyries pull away for a District 7B victory over Eureka.

Campbell wound up with 17 points and Berg netted 16.

Eureka, up 25-24 at intermission, had one player in double-figure scoring — Amanda Peterson with 13.

Bigfork outscored Eureka 32-13 in the second half.
