Basketball roundup: C-Falls boys hold off Frenchtown

COLUMBIA FALLS — Ty Morgan hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to kill a Frenchtown rally and give Columbia Falls (4-1 overall, 1-0 league) a 63-56 Northwestern A boys basketball victory over Frenchtown on Saturday.

Frenchtown closed to within four in the fourth quarter, but could get no closer.

Morgan finished with 16 points and pulled down six rebounds.

Grant Wallace added 13 points and Logan Williams 12.

RONAN — Cedric Earthboy found Jeremiah North Piegan under the basket for an easy shot with 1.8 seconds left to give Ronan the victory in the Class B nonconference battle.

North Piegan scored 10 points in the contest.

Ronan (2-2) was led by Earthboy, who tallied 21.

Chase Bohne netted 24 points and Trey Bohne 21 for Eureka.

Bigfork (4-0, 2-0) was led by Josh Sandry and Isaac Martel, both scored 18 points. Jonathan Landon and Ryder Trent added 10 points each.

Kyle Revier had 15 for Plains.

RONAN — Eureka outscored Ronan 21-15 in the final eight minutes, but still fell short in the Class B nonconference contest.

Ronan jump out to a 26-9 lead and watched Eureka slowly work its way back.

Amanda Peterson tallied a game-high 28 points for Eureka.

Aspen Jore led Ronan with 20.

Bigfork struggled at the line, hitting just 12 of 32 shots.

Plains was 8 of 21.

Hiza made 5 of her 11 free throws and finished with 11 points.

She also had 11 rebounds.

Riley Coleman pulled down 10 rebounds and scored six points.

Columbia Falls (5-0, 1-0) outscored Frenchtown 45-17 in the second half.

Peyton Kehr led the Wildkat attack with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Summer Burlage and Winter Kemppainen both scored nine points for Columbia Falls.
