Barbara Faye Marsh, 54

| February 1, 2014 1:00 PM

Barbara Faye Marsh lived from July 1, 1959 to Jan. 12, 2014.

She was the daughter of Leroy and Faye Marsh, and grew up in Kalispell in a family of five brothers, Chris, Steve, Wes, Mark and Jay, and three sisters, Kathy, Janeen and Julie.

She married Gary Gove Sr. in 1978, and together they raised two children, Gary Gove Jr. and Shelby.

Barb and Gary spent 25 happy years together in the Flathead Valley. Barb worked at Plum Creek where she became a supervisor. This job helped her and Gary purchase a beautiful piece of property on the Flathead River where they raised their family along with many different types of critters. Barb was a true animal lover and usually had an assortment of dogs, cats, horses, chickens, turkeys and even a bobcat. Their place on the Flathead River hosted many get-togethers for family and friends. She loved her little piece of heaven and shared it with everyone she knew.

The year 2002 brought an end to this wonderful era. Barb and Gary went their separate ways but they remained friends. She left Plum Creek and moved to Glasgow to begin a new adventure. There she started a couple of businesses with her boyfriend Joe; The Johnnie Cafe and Sam's Hi Line Road House. Eventually she would have to let go of Johnnie’s, but Sam's Road House remains open to this day. Barb put every ounce of love and energy into Sam's, and its success is a reflection of her spirit and soul. This was her dream, she saw it through and she succeeded!

Barb loved her kids and her five grandkids, Riley, Rowdy, Raiden, Randy and Everett above all else. She would drop everything to help them or be there when they needed her. She was undeniably selfless, helping her kids, grandkids, family, friends and sometimes even strangers that came into the bar. She would feed them and send them on their way without asking for anything in return. That was how she was. Those that knew her would tell you, you will not meet a better friend or mother in this lifetime. No words can express how lucky we all were to have her in our lives. She will live forever in our hearts. “Barbara, you will be missed every day ... until we meet again. We love you Barbara Faye. ‘Boy Howdy!’”
